LLAMA ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA (LANA) ANNOUNCES IT'S 2008 HAND-IN HAND RECIPIENT
Dr. Dale Magnusson of Magnusson Veterinary Clinic, Hudson, WI, has been selected as LANA'S Hand-in Hand recipient for 2008.
At it's recent winter face-to-face board of director's meeting, held in Medford, Oregon from January 10-13, 2008, LANA board members unanimously selected Dr. Dale Magnusson as the 2008 recipient of LANA'S Hand-in-Hand program. Dr. Magnusson services a two state area and upwards of 250 llamas and alpacas. His dedication to the camelid community and it's health needs made him a very easy selection as this year's recipient.
The Hand-in-Hand program was launched by LANA to assist those practicing veterinarians who serve the camelid community as well as 'paying forward' their knowledge of camelid health needs to vet students and other veterinarians in the area.
Each recipient of the Hand-in-Hand award receives a reference package that includes several medical references that can be utilized by the recipient or passed on to another vet or vet student of the recipient's choosing.
The number of llama and alpaca owners has continued to grow while the number of practicing veterinarians familiar with camelids and their health needs has lagged or has grown stagnant over the years. This award is LANA'S way of helping to close the gap.
So, congratulations to Dr. Magnusson and his staff for being chosen as the 2008 recipient of this award.
